Today Crowland is a thriving small market town situated on the outskirts of Peterborough in the County of Lincolnshire with a weekly market held on a Friday. Crowland is famous for its ruined Benedictine Abbey a medieval Abbey built in memory of St Guthliac early in the eighth century by Ethebald King.of Mercia and the 14th Century Ancient monument Grade 1 listed three sided Trinity Bridge which stands at his central point and used to be confluence of three streams.
